Amazon.com Super Affiliate = Osama Bin Laden

Rogue State: A Guide to the World\'s Only Superpower

‘Too bad Bin Laden does not have an Amazon.com Affiliate Account. With a bit of planning, Osama could have been raking in the dough.

Earlier this month, Bin Laden issued another audiotape single where he threatens the US. In case you thought Osama was evil AND illiterate, you were WRONG. Not only does he read, in his speech, he recommended that Americans read a book called Rogue State by liberal author William Blum.

The result of Osama’s “book club”? As I write this, the book is a top seller on Amazon.com. It is currently #32 on Amazon’s top selling book list. Yesterday it was at #51.’

I have an Amazon associates account, so if you don’t have ads blocked you can buy this book from me. πŸ™‚ Don’t fund terrorism, fund moonbuggy. πŸ™‚

How To Survive A Robot Uprising

How To Survive a Robot Uprising : Tips on Defending Yourself Against the Coming Rebellion

‘If popular culture has taught us anything, it is that someday mankind must face and destroy the growing robot menace.

In print and on the big screen we have been deluged with scenarios of robot malfunction, misuse, and outright rebellion. Robots have descended on us from outer space, escaped from top-secret laboratories, and even traveled back in time to destroy us.

Today, scientists are working hard to bring these artificial creations to life. In Japan, fuzzy little real robots are delivering much appreciated hug therapy to the elderly. Children are frolicking with smiling robot toys.

It all seems so innocuous. And yet how could so many Hollywood scripts be wrong?’

Tales Collected by the Brothers Grimm

`For these stories we give the original 1884 text of Margaret Hunt, by all accounts a good translation, if somewhat old-fashioned by present-day standards. Hunt is based on the last revised edition of the Grimms tales. This electronic text follows Hunt as faithfully as possible and is, so far as we know, the only internet version to do so.’

100 Suns

100 Suns

‘Between July 1945 and November 1962 the United States is known to have conducted 216 atmospheric and underwater nuclear tests. After the Limited Test Ban Treaty between the U.S. and the Soviet Union in 1963, nuclear testing went underground. It became literally invisible – but more frequent: the United States conducted a further 723 underground tests until 1992. 100 SUNS documents the era of visible nuclear testing, the atmospheric era, with 100 photographs drawn by Michael Light from the archives at Los Alamos National Laboratory and the U.S. National Archives in Maryland. It includes previously classified material from the clandestine Lookout Mountain Air Force Station based in Hollywood, whose film directors, cameramen, and still photographers were sworn to secrecy.’

The Ground Meat Cookbook – 204 Intriguing Recipes

`A few years ago my wife’s Nanny died and the cousins got together to find good homes for her possessions. They spent the day figuring out who should have what, including some fairly valuable paintings, antique furniture, etc. But when I saw this book, I just knew that this was the only thing I had to have. And so, in honor of Nanny, I share with you what may just be the best cookbook of all time. Enjoy.’

Some of nation’s best libraries have books bound in human skin

`Brown University’s library boasts an unusual anatomy book. Tanned and polished to a smooth golden brown, its cover looks and feels no different from any other fine leather.

But here’s its secret: the book is bound in human skin.

A number of prestigious libraries — including Harvard University’s — have such books in their collections. While the idea of making leather from human skin seems bizarre and cruel today, it was not uncommon in centuries past, said Laura Hartman, a rare book cataloger at the National Library of Medicine in Maryland and author of a paper on the subject.’

the erotic coloring book

`o.k. so i’m no barry white but i did pick up this little gem at a local bookstore on a recommendation from the clerk (thanks nameless clerk) which i wanted to share. it’s a slim but large format volume called the erotic coloring book published in 1975 by berlin & associates out of l.a., illustrated by a guy named craig berlin. it’s high-larious and most assuredly nsfw. possibly nsfpptdhf as well (not safe for people prone to dangerous hallucinogenic flashbacks). you might consider it the companion piece to this earlier post i suppose. see a sampling of the self proclaimed erotic pages below.’

The Black Panther Coloring Book

`This is but one horrific example of the tactics used by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to stifle legitimate dissent and violate the civil rights of political groups that the administration dislikes. Along with the anti-war movement, the Nixon White House targeted the civil rights movement for disruption, using on-campus informants to infiltrate and in many cases to disrupt legal protests and activism.

This coloring book, which was purported to be from the Black Panthers, had actually been rejected by them when it was brought to them by a man later revealed to have intelligence connections. Not to be troubled by the fact that the Panthers found the coloring book revolting, the FBI added even more offensive illustrations, and mass mailed it across America. It so infuriated the white population that they stopped listening to the legitimate grievances of the black people.’

Author says Harry Potter is gay

Shadowmancer

‘A British cleric turned top-selling author of supernatural children’s novels was thrown out of a school where he was delivering a talk after he told pupils that Harry Potter was “gay.”

Reverend Graham Taylor, who penned the novel “Shadowmancer” which, like the tales of the famous boy wizard created by J.K. Rowling, centers on witchcraft and battling evil, got his marching orders after teachers accused him of homophobia.

“As for Harry Potter, well, he’s not the only gay in the village,” the former Anglican priest told children at Penair School in Truro, southwest England, referring to a catchphrase from the popular British comedy TV show “Little Britain.”

He also described the villains in Rowling’s blockbuster series as “wimps” and called TV “crap” compared to books.’

‘Crack Ho’ and ‘Hoochie’ Added To Oxford Dictionary

‘More than 2,000 new and revised word entries have been added to the online edition of The Oxford English Dictionary and a small contingent of them come from the P. Diddy and Eminem arena.

For example, the word “benjamin,” meaning “a one-hundred dollar bill” and more generally, “large sums of money” made its way onto the list.

Other hip-hop words that were added:

— “Hoochie,” which means “a young woman who is promiscuous or who dresses or behaves in a sexually provocative or overtly seductive manner.”

— “Thugged out” is defined as “resembling a thug in dress or behavior, tough-looking.”

— And finally, the dictionary editors have added “crack ho,” which is defined as “a prostitute addicted to crack cocaine.”‘
