moonbuggy chat

I added a chat thingy to the site the other week. You can come and say hello if you want.

You might not get a response, since the chat is usually rather quiet and I’m not always paying attention as a result. But, it’s there if anyone cares to use it none the less. 🙂

10,000th post

This is the 10,000th post on this site. Another arbitrary milestone that amuses me for no real reason.

That is all.

Beastiality And The Internet

So, a month or two back BeastTube went offline. I linked to BeastTube.com a long time ago ’cause it was a strange and funny thing. Since BeastTube went down, I seem to have become some sort of internet authority on beastiality.. As far as the search engines are concerned, atleast.

Is it bad that the most popular thing on this entire website is about fucking dogs? 34,429 dog fuckers can’t be wrong. 🙂

Now all I need to do is convince the sexy dog fucking women that I’m more attractive than a St Bernard and I’m set. The non-sexy dog fucking women can keep their canines. See if I care. 🙂

moonbuggy – Google Search

I’m not sure how it is in rest of the world, but if you do a Google search for “moonbuggy” from within Australia, you may find that NASA is no longer at the top. 🙂

apache and SQL

I’ve spent the week playing with all sorts of settings on the server. It’s now running dramatically faster. So dramatic that the whole thing could be made into movie staring Tom Cruise called “The Midget vs. MySQL”.

Not that I’m a midget. It’s just that Tom Cruise is.

In any case, everything should be running much better now. I also pretty much rewrote the entire image site code, piece by piece as I was optimizing things, so it’s much cleaner now and is running much faster aswell.

So, hooray. 🙂

more than 2,500 random images

The image section of the site has been growing rapidly over the past few weeks. It has been keeping me somewhat busy, but it’s good. 🙂

I passed the 2,500 image mark some time in the past couple of days, so there’s many hours of amusement there now. I’ve also been adding a few new features, like the stats page. Most of the popular images are hilarious.

I still haven’t gotten around to adding ratings for the images yet, but that’s on its way.

Anyways, if you haven’t already, go and have a look at some random images. There’s fair chance you’ll find yourself amused. [Atleast, I hope there is.. 🙂 ]

random images

Things have been a little quiet here these past few days, primarily because I decided to spend some time making a web site full of nothing but random images that amuse, interest or disgust me.

It’s basically good to go, so go check it out if random images are your sort of thing. 🙂

There’s a very small amount of extra functionality on it’s way aswell [more navigation options and some ratings], and I’ll be adding more pictures as I come across them too.

If you (dis)like it or have any suggestions, leave me a comment here so I can do something about it. 🙂

moonbuggy @ Talkr

I signed up for something that apparently turns the posts on the site into mp3s that are suitable for podcasting, for those who don’t like to read I s’pose. 🙂

Anyways, I’m not really sure how well it works, but you can allegedly get to it via this little button:

Link to Podcast (RSS feed) for this blog

Alternatively, if you sign up you can view it on the web here.

Dingos Ate My Bandwidth Again

Updates are going to be a bit scarce for the rest of the month. I’ve managed to exceed my home download quota way too early in the month, so finding good news and web sites is a bit tricky at the moment.

Tho, I mean tricky in the sense that I’m capped to 64kbps and can’t be fucked sitting around all day and waiting for web pages to load. 🙂

I’ll see how it goes an try to make a few posts. Otherwise, I expect things will be back to normal as soon as July arrives.

In the mean time, if you’re bored, check out some of the archives. There’s whole bunches of hilarity and amusion around the site. 🙂

Dingos Ate My Bandwidth

My cable connection at home is kinda close to it’s on-peak quota for the month, which means I can’t really browse the web much until after midnight.

And I’ve taken to going to sleep after midnight.

Also, I’ve been quite busy. So, sorry about the lack of update. More as soon as I can. Hopefully I’ll stay up late over the weekend. 🙂

Updates again soon..

Sorry about the lack of updates. I’ve migrated to a new server and have been busy fixing a few problems that have popped up.

One of the main problems was that mod_security was preventing me from loading the “Make A New Post” page, but if you can see this it means I can post again. So hooray. 🙂

Anyways, a few more things to fix up, and I’ll start posting again probably tomorrow or the next day.

Edit: Blah, decided I might aswell post some stuff now. 😉

Scarce Updates

I’ve got a few things that are keeping me fairly occupied this week, so I may not have time for a lot of updates. Things should be back to normal again soon.

Site Updates

I’ve been making some updates to the sight again. There are occasional short outages when I screw up some PHP, but these will soon pass.

If anyone notices anything badly broken that doesn’t get fixed within a few hours, could you let me know? 🙂

Update: yggubnoom is working better now too. 🙂

Porn Ads

There are some ads for pornographic sites on some of my pages now. I decided to do this because some of my most popular pages have NSFW content on them so I can’t display AdSense ads.

As with the AdSense ads, these pr0n ads are less visible for registered members. My goal remains to try and cover my costs with advertising whilst not bothering those of you who visit frequently too much.

Less than 50 pages will be affected, so you probably won’t see them unless you’re looking through the archives for NSFW stuff. 🙂

There’s been a few other changes around the place to do with links to external websites and how they are presented to returning/registered visitors. Nothing too dramatic.

Oh, if you want an example of what these pr0n ads look like, check out Biphallic Pictures. Ads might move around slightly in the next couple of days, but that’s the basic idea anyways.

On Encouraging Youth

I remember once back in early high school we had an assignment for phys. ed. class where we had to write about something we’re recently achieved and were proud of. It was some self-esteem building thing, I assume.

This was back in the early 90’s, when the interwebs were nothing much more than shell accounts, lynx and telnet. At this point in time, at the tender age of 12 or 13, I was playing MUDs quite a bit, and had infact, after many months of effort, managed to become a wizard and was able to actually program my own little kingdom in the game that other players could run around and kill monsters in. [They were mostly killing hobbits. That’ll teach the hairy little bastards.]

So, I wrote my assignment about the months of work I’d put in to reaching the point where I could program my own part of the game, and I wrote about how I’d learnt the programming language [LpC, it was] and done good bit of coding in the time since, and all the various other things that had taken many months to do. [I didn’t write about just _how_ I was accessing the internet in the early 90’s, which was an achievement in itself. :)]

And I was reasonably proud of all the effort it had taken me to get there, and the effort I’d put into the coding. Bear in mind that all the other people playing/programming this game were university students, so I thought it was pretty good to be holding my own with people 10 years older than me, many of whom were actually studying for Bachelor degrees in computing at the time.

Anyways, I got the assignment back and was told by the teacher that it didn’t count as an achievement and I’d have to do the assignment again. Everyone else’s achievements counted, except mine, apparently.

And that is why PE teachers are PE teachers and not kings of the interwebs like me. Ha! 🙂

Sorry About The Ads

So, I put some ads up in a more prominent position on the individual post pages [i.e. the permalink pages]. I don’t really like ads, and I’d rather not have them there, but bandwidth costs have been increasing lately so I’ll try this for a while and see what happens.

If you don’t like the ads you can use Firefox and install ad blocking software, or you could sign up for an account here as the ads are not displayed so prominently for logged in users.

Hopefully these new prominent ads will work nicely, and if things go well I plan to remove ads for returning visitors entirely.

I’m also still working on my crazy plan to sell a lot of dildos, so maybe that’ll pan out and I can laugh for days on end without stopping, and then use dildo money instead of ad money to pay for bandwidth. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens, I suppose. 🙂

Report Broken Links

I’ve just added a new feature that allows people to report broken posts. The feature is currently enabled for logged in users only, so if you don’t have an account here you won’t see anything. But if you do have an account, a “broken!” button will appear on individual post pages. You can use this button to report any posts that have a dead link, a non-functioning video/audio embed, or any other error.

The button is only enabled on posts permalink pages, so it won’t be visible on the main page or any of the search/archives/etc.. pages. And again, only logged in members will see it. Hopefully that’s enough to stop cunts from fucking things up by reporting posts as as broken all willy nilly.

I’ve added some more stuff behind the scenes that makes it easier for me to enable extra function for signed in users. I plan to add more interesting features in the coming weeks/months. One idea I have is to make higher quality video available to those signed in, so I don’t waste bandwidth on people who don’t come back, and those that do stick around can have more of my bandwidth for themselves. Yay.. 🙂 We’ll see how that pans out anyways.

Comments/suggestions, as always, are very welcome. 🙂

My own video hosting..

I’ve just recently purchased some cheapish hosting that will give me a significant amount of extra bandwidth and storage space. I’m going to use this extra hosting to do something about the dead links that are slowly building up in the archives.

I’ve downloaded copies of pretty much every video I’ve linked to over the years, so I’m going to slowly start hosting these myself, as I discover broken links. If there’s a video or audio clip you really want to see but can’t get to because the page I’m linking to is no longer there, either leave a comment on that post or email me through the contact page and let me know what post it is, and I’ll see if I can put the video back up.

[The contact page was broken before, but I think it’s working at the moment. :)]

moonbuggy’s new statistics

I just installed a plugin which gives statistics on the most popular pages, the highest rated pages and various other things like that. Hopefully more people will vote on posts they like or dislike, ’cause I’m curious to see which pages end up with the highest average ratings

Anyways, the statistics are accessible from a link on the sidebar for now. And this link too. 🙂

I might change the look of the stats a bit later on, maybe put some basic stats on all the pages. We’ll see how it goes. 🙂

john howard david koch joke

A Google search for that phrase currently gives a link to www.moonbuggy.org/tag/piss/, which makes me laugh. 🙂

It’s down the bottom of the page, but still in the top 10. Heh. The only results above it at the moment are from the SMH, The Herald Sun and The Australian newspapers. 🙂

It’s probably not as funny as I think it is. But fuckyas. 🙂

The post Google probably wants to be pointing to is here: Taking the p out of PM snow joke

Free Jung Personality Test

So, I did this test to kill some time. Apparently I’m introverted, intuitive, thinking and perceiving. INTP, for short. Detailed description [with the bits that make me chuckle in bold :)]:

`loner, more interested in intellectual pursuits than relationships or family, wrestles with the meaninglessness of existence, likes esoteric things, disorganized, messy, likes science fiction, can be lonely, observer, private, can’t describe feelings easily, detached, likes solitude, not revealing, unemotional, rule breaker, avoidant, familiar with the darkside, skeptical, acts without consulting others, does not think they are weird but others do, socially uncomfortable, abrupt, fantasy prone, does not like happy people, appreciates strangeness, frequently loses things, acts without planning, guarded, not punctual, more likely to support marijuana legalization, not prone to compromise, hard to persuade, relies on mind more than on others, calm

So, you cunts better not be happy around me. I’ll calmly kick you in the nuts or something if you are. 🙂

Post Rating Plugin

I just installed some plugin to let people rate posts. I might play around with it for a while and see what happens. No one ever leaves a comment, so I doubt anyone will rate anything. But oh well. 🙂

Vaguely planning to sort out some way to let people notify of dead links. I’ve been re-linking to some videos and things as I find them dead, but I’m sure there’s many more dead links that need fixing..

Fun fun. 🙂

5,000 Posts

I only just realized that I’ve passed the 5,000 posts mark on this site. Not too bad, I figure. 🙂 I actually passed it about a month and a half ago with this post: M400X Skycar VTOL Prototype Aircraft. This is now my 5226th post.

So, hooray for me or something. 🙂

Distractions..

Sorry about the lack of updates everyone. I’ve been very bored lately, and I’ve recently been playing Neverwinter Nights again to pass the time. It’s been so long since I’ve played it that I’ve forgotten what happens so it’s fun again.

Anyway, I’ve been spending all day playing that lately. It’s a nice mental exercise in a way aswell, something I don’t get much of these days and surely could use some more of.

I’ll post some more updates in the near future. In the mean time, maybe have a look at some random posts from the past or some other websites. But don’t forget to check back here. 🙂

Oh, on an unrelated note, I found out the other day that the mortality rate for an intraparenchymal haemorrhage is around 40-50%. Interesting trivia.

Not so many updates at the moment..

I’m busy moving house and all sorts of things at the moment. Posts will be sporadic for the next few days, most probably.

Stick around though, more good stuff coming once I get myself sorted out. 🙂

More site updates..

I’m continually updating the code and layout of the site at the moment, so new posts are still a bit sparse. It will probably be another few weeks before I get back to more regular postings. In the meantime, there’s now a page of random posts to keep you entertained, and I’m going through tagging posts to make navigation by category a lot easier.

So, lots of cool things happening behind the scenes. I’m sure no one but me cares, but oh well. 🙂

The tagging of posts will take weeks or months, because I’m slowly working through the archives when I can be bothered. All the other major changes and new functionality should be done in the next few weeks. Fun. 🙂

New site goes live..

So, if you’re reading this and you’ve been here before you may or may not notice that some parts of the page look a bit different. I’ve just switched over to the WordPress powered site I’ve been playing with over the past few days. Most everything is going nicely now, all the old posts seems to have successfully made their way into the new database and the comments have followed along too.

There might still bit a bit of ugliness on some of the pages, I’m still putting the last few tweaks in at the moment. There will probably be a few minor changes to the look of the page aswell, as I stuff about with some of the new features I’ve got now.

If everything goes to plan though, the new site should look and feel a lot like the old one. The biggest changes are behind the scenes.

Fun fun. 🙂

If you notice anything majorly screwed up and could be bothered, send me an email via the contact page so I know to fix it.

Oh, and also, you can now register an account on the site. I don’t know that it does anything at the moment, but I may in the future add some features to the site that make use of it. Personalisation of the page layout or some AJAXy shit or something. [shrug] Who knows.
